AKDroid Labs ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PixelMood — Daily Mood Tracker mobile application (the "App" or "Service"). This policy explains what data is collected when you use our App, how it is used, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
A. Data You Create (Stored Locally on Your Device)
The following data is created by you and stored exclusively on your device using a local Room database:
- Mood entries: The vibe type you log (e.g., Joyful, Calm, Anxious), the date and time of each entry, and any optional note you attach.
- App preferences: Your reminder time, dark/light mode setting, and onboarding completion state, stored via Android DataStore.
- Streak and progress data: Calculated locally from your mood log. Never transmitted.
This data is not sent to our servers, not shared with third parties, and is fully under your control. You can delete individual mood entries directly inside the app, or remove all data by uninstalling it.
B. Automated Data — Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
We use Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) to automatically detect and report app crashes and errors. This helps us identify and fix bugs quickly.
- What is collected: Device model and OS version, app version, stack traces at the time of a crash, and a randomly generated installation ID.
- What is NOT collected: Your mood entries, notes, or any personal content you have entered.
- Crash reporting is disabled in debug builds so test crashes do not reach our dashboard.
C. Automated Data — Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how users interact with the App so we can improve it.
We log the following custom events:
- vibe_logged — records that a mood was logged, including the vibe category (Positive / Neutral / Negative) and whether a note was attached. The content of notes is never collected.
- care_plan_viewed — records which vibe type's care plan was opened.
- mood_deleted — records that a mood entry was deleted (no content).
- paywall_viewed, paywall_subscribe_tapped, paywall_restore_tapped — records interactions with the subscription screen.
- pro_purchased — records a successful Pro subscription using the standard Google Analytics purchase event.
- rate_app_tapped, feedback_tapped, privacy_policy_tapped — records taps on support links in Settings.
Firebase Analytics may also collect standard device and session data, including device type, OS version, country, language, and app session duration.
D. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of PixelMood displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). AdMob may collect your Android Advertising ID, IP address, and ad interaction data to deliver relevant ads and measure ad performance.
Ads are permanently removed for PixelMood Pro subscribers.
E. Subscription and Purchase Data (Google Play Billing)
Subscriptions to PixelMood Pro are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment card information. We receive a purchase token and subscription status from Google, which we use only to unlock Pro features on your device.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the Service: Local mood data powers your calendar, streak, level, and insights — all computed on-device.
- To fix bugs: Crash reports help us identify and resolve stability issues.
- To improve the App: Aggregated, anonymised analytics help us understand which features are used and where users encounter friction.
- To show advertisements: Free-tier users see ads served by AdMob. These may be personalised based on your Advertising ID.
- To process subscriptions: Purchase tokens are used solely to verify and maintain your Pro status via Google Play.
3. Third-Party Services and Their Privacy Policies
The App uses third-party services that have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them:
- Google Privacy Policy (covers Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, AdMob, Google Play Billing, and Google Play In-App Review)
4. Data Storage and Security
- On-device storage: Mood entries and preferences are stored in an encrypted Android Room database and Android DataStore, protected by your device's built-in security (lock screen, encryption).
- Data in transit: All data transmitted to third-party services (Firebase, AdMob, Google Play) is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
- Security disclaimer: While we apply commercially reasonable safeguards, no electronic storage or transmission method is 100% secure.
5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
A. Delete Individual Mood Entries
You can long-press any day in your Mood Calendar to open the Day Detail sheet, then delete any individual mood entry instantly. This permanently removes it from your device.
B. Delete All Data
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored mood entries, preferences, and streak data from your device.
C. Advertising ID
You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads at any time:
Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset Advertising ID (Android 12 and below)
Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete Advertising ID (Android 13+)
D. Opt Out of Analytics
Firebase Analytics respects the Limit Ad Tracking / Opt out of Ads Personalisation setting on your device.
6. Home Screen Widget
PixelMood offers an optional home screen widget that displays your most recently logged mood. The widget reads data from a local Android DataStore file on your device. No mood data is transmitted off-device as part of the widget.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
